The YM is going to be closest to the Submariner, so that’s probably the way to go. If you really love the Sub and it’s something you will always want, fuck it and just get the Submariner.
I have a 6'5" wrist and agree less than 40mm is the sweet spot. I have owned a neo vintage 14270 Explorer as well as the 39mm (which I felt was larger than the original design and lacked the “style” of the 36mm), and finally my current Explorer, a 2021 era 124270 36mm on my 7.25” wrist. I believe it to be a proper classical size in the manner of Rolex. But the fit of the watch heavily depends on the shape of your wrist along with the size. My simple take on that is the lug to lug length value should never be more than the width of the middle 3 fingers!
